- A postcard sent to Reverend R. Layton in Kentville, Nova Scotia, mailed in Annapolis Royal, N.S. The Annapolis Royal Region in Nova Scotia is one of the oldest continuous European settlements in North America. It was settled in 1605 by Samuel de Champlain and Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Monts.
