The CSAs, a merger of the Gemini and Genie awards in 2013, are handed out annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television to recognize excellence in Canadian lm, English-language television, and digital media productions. The awards will be presented at a series of week-long events, culminating in the nal live broadcast gala on March 1 in Toronto. The Sheridan alumni nominated for the CSAs hail from a variety of programs at the college, including advanced television and lm; animation; art and art history; bachelor of design (honours); interactive multimedia; journalism; media arts; and music theatre performance. Moonshine Café hosts Andy Griffiths Saturday Oakville's Moonshine Café will host Burlington's Andy Grif ths as he previews tunes from his new album Saturday (Jan. 24). Stella Started It is the name of Grif ths' new album , which is set to be released in September. The indie folk/rock singer/songwriter will also play a selection of songs from his previous albums, such as Mind On Other Things (nominated for Roots Recording of the Year at the 2013 Hamilton Music Awards) and Looking At A Life. Grif ths will be performing with his band, including Kim Koren, Frank Koren, and Nick Czarnogorski. Oakville music artist Kris Tonkens and Toronto band The Ditch Horses will open the night. Oakville artist Bianca De Navarro Cubric has her works on display at the Aroma Espresso Bar until Feb. 1. The Brazilian painter's solo show features the local artist's collection of abstract acrylic paintings on canvasses of various sizes. A mosaic artist and industrial designer, De Navarro Cubric was born in Rio de Janeiro and moved to Oakville in 2001.
