There are still spots available for the winter edition of the Police Ethnic And Cultural Education (PEACE) program. The program is offered from 6:30­9 p.m. every Tuesday night for 12 weeks between Jan. 20-April 7, 2015. For youths aged 15-18 Youths aged 15-18 are eligible to apply to participate in the Halton Regional Police initiative. Each week, students will be given presentations by different units and bureaus within the police service with the emphasis on practical demonstrations and involvement. Learn how police investigate Participants will learn about how police investigate and try to prevent crimes, what the different units within the service are responsible for and what it's like to be a police officer. As well, students learn about cultural awareness and inclusion, how police strive to provide equitable service for all communities in Halton and how it is educating new Canadians and recent immigrants about policing in Canada.
