Representatives from Ontario's 21 universities are coming to Halton through the University Information Program (UIP). The free event offers high school students from the surrounding area, and their parents, the opportunity to speak with university representatives. The UIP offers students who are considering attending an Ontario university the chance to learn more about admission requirements, scholarships, the application process, residency and campus life. The sessions are designed to assist graduating high school students with making an informed decision before they apply to university in January 2015. They are also aimed at assisting students with high school course selections in order to guide them in choosing a university program. Students and their parents will have the chance to attend a fair-style session, held in a school gym, where they can visit each Ontario university rep individually. The Oakville session will be held at Holy Trinity S.S., 2420 Sixth Line, on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 7-9 p.m. There is a Burlington forum to be held at Corpus Christi Secondary School, 5150 Upper Middle Rd., on Tuesday, Oct. 7, from 12:30-2 p.m. Bishop Reding S.S. in Milton, 1120 Main St. E., holds its UIP on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m. Students who are interested in attending are encouraged to confirm the UIP schedule in their area with their guidance office.
