Twenty people swam pool lengths with event founder and organizer Frank Zamuner, at left, who took on 100 laps. Participants swam a total of 1,737 laps and included Zamuner's grandchildren and Dr. Nancy De Kleer, at right, who swam 110 laps herself. Zamuner founded the swim as a means to fundraise for local mental health programs after he overcame the challenge of experiencing and living with depression in the wake of heart surgery. The event, to date, has raised more than $182,000 for HHS mental health programs. | photo by Inger MacKenzie special to the Beaver Don't miss this opportunity.
