An All Saints Crescent resident is looking for the owner of a blue budgie, which has shown up on her street recently. Marilyn Penley said the bird has been flying freely around the neighbourhood for about a month and is a regular visitor at her backyard bird feeder. "She or he comes pretty much every evening," said Penley. "She obviously got loose from someone's home. Some family in Oakville is likely feeling the loss of the bird." Penley, who previously kept budgies as pets, went to the pet shop and bought some spray mil- let to ensure her visitor has the proper diet. She said the budgie has allowed her to hand feed it on occasion, but shows no desire to return to captivity, ignoring bird seed Penley has placed in a cage in an effort to capture the bird. Penley described the budgie as fairly young, estimating it is only a few months old. She said it appears to be making friends, repeatedly arriving in her backyard in the company of a particular mourning dove. "She's fine right now because the weather is warm, but in the winter, I think it could be another story," said Penley.
