During their investigation, police combed through video footage of the various robberies and noticed a vehicle, which was present at several of the incidents. "(Investigators) located what appeared to be the vehicle yesterday and followed it all the way up to Guelph," said Sgt. Chantal Corner, Halton police media relations officer. "The accused got out of the car and was dressed very similarly to what was worn during the other robberies." At around 2:30 p.m., a man entered a Bank of Montreal on Wyndham Street in Guelph. Corner said there was no time for officers to safely arrest the individual before he went inside. The man was arrested without incident a few minutes after he left the branch. At that point, police discovered the bank had been robbed, said Corner. Money from this robbery was recovered. Danny William Miller, 49, of no fixed address faces nine counts of robbery and nine counts of wearing a disguise while committing a robbery. He was held for a bail hearing in Milton.
