The 23rd annual clean up of nature sites will be Saturday, April 26 from 9-11 a.m. Forty-six sites were cleaned up last year -- a record number -- and 3,500 kilograms of garbage were picked up by 1,500 volunteers. More than 30 nature sites have been confirmed for cleanup on the day -- all locations will be highlighted in a flyer to be delivered to Oakville homes. A map of clean-up locations, produced by the Parks and Open Space department, will also be displayed in Town of Oakville facilities, such as libraries, recreation centres and Town Hall, throughout April. All sites must be registered by March 14. Garbage bags and work gloves are provided by the Town at clean-up sites and garbage collected will be promptly removed by Halton Region's Waste Management Department trucks.
