Ferrone said she's proud to be part of the UWO family, which recognizes that although Oakville is a beautiful community there are resi- dents who need assistance. "We served 1,113 children last year and that's because of United Way," she said, adding children who are mentored are more likely to finish school and go on to post-secondary education. "We know our programs have a huge impact and there's a huge rate-of-return back to the community," she said.
