At 1:12 p.m., fire crews were called to the scene after receiving a report that sparks were coming from an electrical box. Firefighters arrived to find the building full of smoke. Flames travelled up the wall from the electrical box to the roof. "We had crews cutting holes in the roof to check for (fire) extension up into the attic area," explained Oakville Deputy Fire Chief Andy Glynn. "We also had crews underneath that were opening walls and extinguishing any visible flames." The fire was under control within 30 minutes.
