This was followed by a rendition of Amazing Grace sung against a backdrop of images depicting Canadian soldiers who've died in battle. Grade 7 student Conor Leslie shared a few words about the late Pte. David Greenslade, 20, a Canadian soldier killed on duty in Afghanistan in 2007. "David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and his dog. He enjoyed golfing, waterskiing, swimming and kayaking. I learned a lot about him. You should remember him because of how great he is," said Leslie. "He was an ordinary person who died for our country." Upon conclusion of Burke's speech, he was presented with a plaque on behalf of the school as appreciation for his service. "We owe it to the families of those brave men and women to never forget the sacrifice a family makes when their loved one leaves for war and does not come back. Let it be our goal to ensure that we do not forget about them," said Vasdani. Shopping EntertainingTips HolidayDécor VisitwithSanta `Tis the season for giving!
