Oakville MP Terence Young recently announced $130,000 in funding for the Town's Big Ticket Presentation Series at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. The money, $65,000 in 2014-15 and $65,000 in 2015-16, comes from the federal government's Canada Arts Presentation Fund. The program is intended to give Canadians increased access to the variety and richness of Canada's culture through professional arts festivals, presentations of live professional performances, and other artistic experiences. "The Big Ticket Presentation Series offers high-quality performances that enrich our Oakville's Big Ticket Presentation Series picks up federal arts grant community," said Young. With this investment, the Town of Oakville will also offer activities to attract youths and enhance audience appreciation, such as workshops, master classes, and post-show artist talks. "Our government is proud to invest in organizations that give Canadians access to live professional artistic experiences," said Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages in a press release.
