The Oakville Stitchery Guild (OSG) -- one of the first fibre arts guilds in Canada -- is celebrating its 40th anniversary. In addition, the quilt boasts the History of Oakville in five panels, dated 1802, 1830, 1860, 1890 and 1977. Pieces created by current members of the Guild will also be on display at the Centre. As part of the celebration, Jane Edmondson will visit the Centre on Nov. 3 to discuss the Joy of Stitchery. "I am particularly drawn to the lovely Canadian landscapes and beautiful red barns," she said. Martha Campbell says she is inspired by colour, shape and form, and that she "creates works that have been encouraged by my vision of scenes that I see around me."
