Course to help you Live to the Full The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Halton Region Branch will hold special sessions at 1540 Cornwall Rd., from Sept. 24-Nov. 12, aimed at making people feel better. The branch is promoting the course titled Living Life to the Full as eight 90-minute sessions that can change a person's life. "Living Life to the Full helps people to make a difference in their lives by teaching them how to deal with their feelings when fed up, worried, or hopeless and helping them learn skills to tackle life's problems," stated a press release. The course is intended for anyone seeking to face and overcome problems that are bothering them, worry less, and live a happier life. "Living Life to the Full is for absolutely everyone of all ages and walks of life," said Radhika Subramanyan, chief executive officer of the CMHA Halton Region Branch. "We all have times when we feel down, stressed, or frustrated, and we can all learn how to cope better. This course is a great way for people to improve their wellness and their quality of life." Dr. Chris Williams, a psychiatrist and professor at the University of Glasgow in the U.K., developed the Living Life to the Full program. The CMHA Halton Region Branch introduced the program to the region in April and said it has been received with praise and excitement. "The group evolves in a supportive environment in which people are encouraged to flourish with the skills and tools provided," said Kimberly Cato, program facilitator. "We see it making a tremendous difference in the lives of those who participate by strengthening them with strategies to give them hope for a bright future. It is an opportunity to regain control of the choices made when faced with challenges, obstacles, and stress and build self-discovery, personal development, and growth." The sessions run Tuesday afternoons from 2-3:30 p.m. The cost of participating is $90.
