www.insideHALTON.com | OAKVILLE BEAVER | Thursday, May 30, 2013 | 20 NEWS AND INFORMATION FROM OAKVILLE-TRAFALGAR MEMORIAL HOSPITAL MAY 2013 New Oakville Hospital... Preparing for Change With a scheduled opening date of December 2015, Halton Healthcare Services (HHS) has been working very hard preparing the organization to transition to the new Hospital a practice called operational readiness. Moving to a building three times the size of the current Hospital with new, modern design and advanced technologies brings a lot of changes to the way staff, physicians and volunteers work and provide care. HHS is in the process of developing a comprehensive move strategy that will ensure the smoothest transition possible for both patients and staff. The New Oakville Hospital, currently under construction at Dundas Street and Third Line, will replace the existing Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Learn more about the New Oakville Hospital and capital redevelopment projects at HHS' community Hospitals in Milton and Halton Hills, on-line at www.haltonhealthcare.com. If you enjoy interacting with older adults, the Oakville Hospital offers a number of opportunities to help us enhance their care: · Coordinate visits with Chiropody staff in area nursing homes; · Install and orient clients to ConnectCARE equipment in their homes; · Visit and assist patients having regular Dialysis treatments; · Assist with music, baking or manicure programs at the Hospital. HHS' Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH) uses Digital Radiography (DR). This means that the image is captured and immediately processed electronically as a digital image. DR technology has been identified by CCO as being the most effective mammography technology for detecting cancer. HHS communities can be assured that all our Hospitals provide quality mammograms.
