"Every Oakville resident has a direct Bus driver nds injured woman lying on road Halton police are reconstructing the scene after an Oakville bus driver discovered an injured woman lying on Proudfoot Trail early yesterday morning. At approximately 1:30 a.m. Thursday (March 21), an Oakville Transit bus driver came upon a woman lying in the middle of the road on Proudfoot Trail in the Town of Oakville. The driver and lone passenger on the bus assisted the woman who had suffered obvious trauma, police said. Halton police and EMS were called to the scene. The woman, a 22-year-old Toronto resident, was taken by paramedics to Hamilton General Hospital where she remains in stable condition. Due to the seriousness of the victim's injuries, members of the Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) were called in and have taken over the investigation. The police reconstructionists are piecing together the woman's movements prior to 1:30 a.m. and are analyzing the mechanics of her injuries to determine if she was struck by a vehicle or if she fell from a moving vehicle. The woman and other passenger parted company at the drop-off point. Police want to speak to the driver of the cab, which was described as a white Toyota Camry with dark leather interior, bearing cab No. 2013 or No. 2310. The driver is described as male, in his late 20s to early 30s, with short dark hair and spoke with an accent. Investigators appealed to the taxi cab community to call if they have any information on this speci c cab or driver.
