(WWE) recently announced the names of its 18 WrestleMania Reading Challenge finalists for 2012-13. Kazek Israni-Winger, a Grade 9 Oakville student, is one of the 18 selected from across North America and has been awarded with a trip to WrestleMania 29, as well as $2,000 for his participating library -- the Oakville Public Library. As an entry requirement, students were asked to submit a persuasive letter to a WWE superstar, convincing him or her to read their favourite book. Israni-Winger was selected as Regional Winner for the Grade 9-12 category, meaning his letter placed first out of all Canadian entries. He convinced wrestler Kofi Kingston to read Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. Public Library by convincing a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star to read his favourite book, Where the Red Fern Grows. Starting April 1, 2013, you can add the following new materials to your Blue Box: Clear plastic "clam shell" containers Black & clear plastic take-out containers Cardboard cans Empty metal paint cans Lids removed Israni-Winger discovered the contest while browsing the library's website last year. He enjoys reading and loves when he can relate to characters and storylines. Israni-Winger has enjoyed many programs offered by the library including the recent Teen Improv Workshop, and is thrilled that the $2,000 will go towards enhancing library services and its collection.
