It is important to note, that accountants are not just for the affluent community; everyone who pays taxes can benefit from the experience of a well-trained professional. "It is not about what you earn," Wong explains, "it's about what you are able to keep." Every tax situation is different which is why having an accountant handling all of your personal and business taxes can be beneficial. Wong not only complies with the rules set out by the government, he works on behalf of his clients to ensure they are getting the most bang for their buck, so-to-speak. Wong's goal for each and every client is simple: to minimize the amount of tax being paid. This may not be done in one simple step, but by looking five to 10 years down the road to figure out what the best options are long-term. For those who are looking for investment and saving assistance, Wong looks at every point of view before deciding he thinks is best for his client. "For some, RRSPs (Registered Retirement Savings Plans) may be the best option, however a TFSA (Tax-Free Savings Account) may work better for another client's situation."
