Oakville Mayor Rob Burton presented the royal recognition to three Oakville doctors and several supporters of the town's new hospital, currently under construction at Third Line and Dundas Street. "These men and women played inspirational roles in persuading council to make the new hospital possible with our pledge of an up to $130-million donation after substantial completion," Burton said. Those who received medals, included Mags Shorey, Eve Willis, Gerry Wilson, Betty Birmingham, Bill Cooper, Pierre Morissette, Dr. Alan Brown, Dr. Lorne Martin, Dr. Neil Rau, and Ruth Anne Winter, who was unable to attend the morning ceremony on Feb. 14 at Town Hall.
