Memorable win for atom Hornets Gold medals weren't the only thing the Oakville atom AA Hornets girls took home from the recent Bell Capital Cup -- the largest minor hockey tournament in the world -- in Ottawa. The Hornets, who outscored their opponents 20-4 on the way to winning all five of their games -- also left with memories of playing at Scotiabank Place, the home of the NHL's Ottawa Senators; having their championship game streamed live on the Internet; and being featured in media reports by CTV and other news outlets. Oakville clinched the title with an 8-2 defeat of the Nepean Wildcats in the final, a team the Hornets also defeated 3-1 earlier in the tournament. Oakville's other victories came over the Kanata Rangers (3-0), Cornwall Typhoons (4-1) and Stoney Creek Sabres (2-0). Members of the Hornets are Sarah Campbell, Annabel Child, Madison Cote, Morgan Damery, Rachel D'Armiento, Amanda Guedikian, Quinn Kolwich, Paige Lester, Kate Lengyel, Sophia Lombardo, Kaitlyn McMahon, Erin McPherson, Gillian Miller, Francesca Monte, Amelia Smith, Olivia Wallin and Alexandria Wasik.
