"A new toy can mean the world to a child in need, especially during the holidays," said Christie Henderson, managing partner. "It is an event I hold near and dear to my heart as it a wonderful way to bring people together to help children and families, right here in the Town of Oakville." This year's 11th annual event was held at The Oakville Club and brought together more than 200 women locally and from the business com- Toy Tea is a tradition munity for an afternoon featuring tea, a martini bar and the wares of local artisans. Each guest was asked to bring an unwrapped, toy or a warm winter jacket as a donation. "The Oakville Toy Tea is more than a gathering over a cup of coffee, tea... or a martini, it is a way to raise awareness about need in our community and a way to give back," said Josée O'Toole, principal at Henderson Partners. "So many lives have been touched by this event, since 2001, and it is a fantastic way to make a difference during the holiday season." Money collected from sponsorships is used to fund the cost of the event and purchase additional toys or gift cards.
