17 · Wednesday, November 14, 2012 OAKVILLE BEAVER · www.insideHALTON.com Saturday, November 17, 2012 - Parade starts at 9 a.m. Thanking this year's Parade sponsors and volunteers Pam Damoff, Parade Chair, credits a dedicated corps of local volunteers -- working in conjunction with the Town of Oakville -- and generous support from the private sector with the Parade's long-standing success. Damoff expressed her heartfelt thanks to the organizing committee as well as the 100 or so volunteers who help on Parade Day entertaining spectators and ensuring the event runs smoothly. She also extends her gratitude, on behalf of her committee, for the continued support of local businesses. Said Damoff, "Our corporate sponsors are an integral part of the Oakville Santa Claus Parade, as we use these funds to hire marching bands, rent costumes, maintain Santa's float, publicize the event and recognize winning entries, amongst many other things." "As a community-minded business, we take great pride in our involvement in the Santa Claus Parade over the years", said Rob Lister, Oakville Hydro President and CEO. "As a Gold Sponsor, as well as Parade participant, the Parade gives us the opportunity to give back to the community while at the same time allowing our employees the chance to work together to create a unique and exciting float. We encourage other Oakville businesses to join us in supporting this worthwhile community event."
