And the inaugural event was no disappointment as it managed to raise tens of thousands of dollars for local programs. To show their gratitude, members of the Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar -- which organized the ribfest -- held a big `thank you' for its sponsors, supporters and volunteers on Thursday, Sept. 27. There were more than 50 sponsors and hundreds of volunteers and supporters for this year's event, which took place in June on the grounds of Sheridan College's Oakville campus. Furthermore, as the ribfest event is also a fundraiser, the Rotary Club gave out some cheques at the thank-you celebration.
