SPRAWSON, Andrew Barrie B.30.03.1963-P.11.08.2012 Andrew drew his last breath at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday August 11, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Andrew is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Jill, his sons Spencer and Peter, his sisters; Julia (Lisa) and Tricia and brothers Jonathan (Janice) & Garry and his parents Gillian and Barrie plus Clive, (Jan), Margie, Tricia, (Tim) plus nieces & nephews Ben, Claire & Tess (Oakville) Ryder, (Toronto), Abrie, Samantha (Clark), Eden (Destinie) & Jacob (Mallory) (Saskatchewan), and their mother Pam plus his father & mother-in-law Doug and Bev Londry (Kingston) & their children Sarah (Taylor, Serena & Erica) & Peter (Crystal). At over 12 lbs he entered this world as a heavy weight and left it as a giant of a man though only 120lbs. Andrew had a brain tumour at 10 but survived and thrived for another 39 years. Andrew spent his life giving other people hope. After graduation from college he built a doll house enterprise which was followed by a backyard play centre business: Tree House Toys. Andrew was an unabashed believer and follower of Christ. He led by example and never criticised. He just encouraged and accepted everyone at face value. He later founded Rebounders Canada, an organization for the adult survivors of childhood cancer with the motto "Thriving not just surviving". Rebounders grew nationally and allowed a large network of survivors to build friendships and which gave meaning and purpose to their lives. Andrew was a member of the Junior Board of Trade and of Rotary. He received two Paul Harris Awards for his services to the community. Andrew endured pain with a smile to the end and on the day before he left us went on his special tricycle, in excruciating pain, to buy bottled water for a group of parched workmen assembling a children's play centre in his local park. They were so surprised at his gift as were his friends and family. He has won the gold medal for living. Thanks to Drs. Bremermann, Ginty, Southey, Leighl and Jessica Tarling, RN, for their dedicated services in the last few months. Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Chartwell Baptist Church, 228 Chartwell Road, Oakville. A Celebration of Andrew's life will take place at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Chartwell Church. Balloons and bright cloths requested. In lieu of flowers, donations in Andrew's name may be made to Rebounders Canada, Chartwell Church or a Charity of your choice. Condolences may be recorded at www.koprivataylor.com.
