Lucas Ferreira and Jordan Arruda were among the 1,000 players chosen for the 2012 Top Gun camp in Williamsburg July 23-25 after strong showings at a Football University camp in Toronto. The 13-year-old Arruda was named the best defensive lineman at the Toronto camp. Ferreria, 12, is a defensive tackle. More than 50 former NFL coaches and players will instruct players at the FBU camps in a variety of settings. The invitation-only camps are for elite level players in Grades 6-8. The Oakville novice 1 Hawks earned silver at the recent Peterborough Lakers Classic Lacrosse Tournament. Oakville went undefeated in round-robin play before dropping a 4-3 decision in the final to the Orangeville Northmen. Members of the Hawks are Max Boulanger, Ryan Brooks, Jake Dawick, Luke Dawick, Chris Dong, Tyler Ford, Ethan Harkins, Brian Jackman, Landon Masse, Jake McKinstray, Dante Parisotto, Owen Sage, Ethan Stainton, Chase Strychaluk, Zach Terry, Davis Tolnai, Cam Tolnai and Matthew Vilas. Rob MacDougall and Bryan Brooks coach the team, which will compete in the prestigious Jack Crosby Invitational Tournament next month in Vancouver.
