Town officials said incidents of coyote attacks on people are extremely rare with Halton Public Health, reporting that in 2009-2010 there were no reported incidents of coyotes biting or scratching a person. During the same period, they said, there were 281 reported incidents of cats biting or scratching people and 222 reported incidents of dogs doing the same.
