Kwiecien-Delaney won the boys' 14-15 50m freestyle and broke the Oakville Aquatic Club (OAK) record. He also finished second in the 50m backstroke and third in the 100m butterfly. Evan White also turned in a victory at the meet, taking first in the boys' 14-15 100m butterfly and was third in the 200m individual medley. Annie Harrison was second in the girls' 16-and-over 200m IM, fifth in the 100m butterfly and sixth in the 50m freestyle. Marni Oldershaw turned in three thirdplace finishes, taking the bronze medal in the girls' 16-and-over 100m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 200m IM. Mitchell Gour placed third in the 14-15 boys' 50m backstroke and was sixth in the 200m IM. Jack Cavanagh was seventh in boys' 16-and-over 200 IM. Oakville players contribute at nationals Oakville's Mellissa Channell and Kristyn Capizzano each had an assist as Ontario Red opened the Canadian women's under-18 hockey championship with an 8-2 win over Manitoba Wednesday in Saguenay, Quebec. Oakville players also figured into Ontario Blue's 7-0 win over Saskatchewan. Sydney McKibbon scored a second-period goal and Hannah Bale and Bryanna Neuwald each had an assist. The win evened Ontario Blue's record at the tournament at 1-1. It opened with a 4-1 loss to Quebec. It finishes roundrobin play today (Friday) against Atlantic Canada. Ontario Red finishes with games against British Columbia and Alberta. The gold and bronze medal games are scheduled for Sunday.
