Moon Point t at Encore The full-length feature film Moon Point, parts of which were filmed in Oakville and features local comedian Christian Potenza, is hitting the big screen. The film will play at Oakville's Encore Cinema on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The film was co-produced by Potenza, who also had a small part in the film playing a villain named Ricky. The movie is about a young man, played by Nick McKinlay, who goes on a road trip across Ontario with his friend in a motorized wheelchair in order to find the girl he fell in love with in Grade 9. Wacky misadventures arise along the way. Potenza is easily recognizable as the toothbrush guy in the Listerine TV commercials. He's appeared in a number of commercials, TV shows, including as the voice of Jude in the 6Teen animated series and in Jackie Chan's The Tuxedo movie. Moon Point t was shot in several Oakville locations, including a house, a downtown Oakville Laundromat and a north Oakville hamburger restaurant. Beyond that, the movie was shot across the GTA and north, including Orillia and Barrie. The movie has appeared in a number of film festivals. Tickets to the showing cost $10.
