Haynes sisters both advance to OFSAA Braedan Russell collected four points and three teammates added three points each as the Oakville Blades overwhelmed the Milton IceHawks 10-1 Friday at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. Russell had two goals and two assists to lead the rout in Oakvilles only Ontario Junior A Hockey League game last weekend. Tyler Karius and Stefan Thompson both had a goal and two helpers, while Bradley Ryan had three assists. Liam Board (two), Brandon Denham, Martin Kudla, Kyle Blaney and Chris Taylor had Oakvilles other goals. Jordan Coccimiglio and Ashton Anderson contributed two assists each for the Blades, who scored four times in the opening 8:04 and outshot Milton 47-27 on the night. Michael Stiliadis made 26 saves to earn the win in net. Similar results might be in store for the Blades this week. Oakville (4-2) will visit the 1-4 Brampton Capitals tomorrow (Thursday), then host the Capitals Sunday at 3:30 p.m. Blades whip IceHawks in lone weekend contest Oreskovich put on waivers by Canucks A few months after playing in the Stanley Cup final and shortly after re-signing with the team, Victor Oreskovich was placed on waivers yesterday (Tuesday) by the Vancouver Canucks. The 25-year-old local resident, who played 19 playoff games dur- ing the Canucks run to the final last spring, was projected to be on Vancouvers fourth line this sea- son.
