Hes an athletic kid, very smart. I think the skys the limit as far as what he can accomplish. The transition to senior football, especially in Halton, is very, very dif- ficult. Shaka Fonderson scored Trinitys other touchdown, rumbling for nine yards on the Titans first possession of the second half to give Trinity a 17-0 lead. Following Weyersberg's touchdown catch, Chris Cipolla tackled a Robinson runner in the end zone later in the third quarter to make the score 26-0. Brooks accounted for Trinitys other points with three converts and a field goal. Robinson broke up the Titans shutout bid with a 30-yard TD pass in the fourth quarter. We played very well on defence. I thought our front seven played very well stopping the run, Moscato said. With the season-opening win under their belt, the Titans will now prepare this week for what could be their toughest test of the sea- son. Trinity will host the Nelson Lords, seen by many as the overwhelming favourite to win this years regional title, Friday at 4:30 p.m. Moscato obviously hopes his squad will be competitive against the Lords, but he wont be putting too much stock in the result. Its not how you start, its how you finish, he said. Every week, we need to get better and better. I expect us to be a much better football team at the end of the season than we are now. Seven other local senior football squads see their first action this week. Canada gave the worlds fifth-ranked team a much more difficult time than the score would indicate. France scored 21 unanswered points, 14 in the final five minutes, in the final 20 minutes to blow the game open. Oakvilles Phil Mackenzie, who had a try in Canadas opening win over Tonga, started for the second straight game. f Jamie Mackenzie and Mike Scholz o Oakville are also members of the Canadian squad. Both New Zealand and France are now 2-0 with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the quarter-finals. Canada has games remaining against Japan and New Zealand. SPORTSBRIEFS
