Barringtons opened as a fur salon back in 1951 at its first of four different locations in Oakville. That space has expanded over the years with each relocation, and more recently with the renovation of the historic Lakeshore Road location five years ago. The redesign helped to accommodate a grow- ing handbag selection that boasts names like Michael Kors, Cole Haan, Andrew Marc and Oakvilles own Karen Wilson. Barringtons is the only store in the prov- ince, outside of Toronto that carries Longchamp and its little Le Pliage bag. Barringtons gathers scarves from around the world to add a flourish to out- erwear. Hundreds of pairs of gloves are sold every year, an indication that discerning shoppers know where to find the perfect match. Many things have changed at Barrington's but their commitment to high quality and excellent customer service has continued for 60 years. As an anniversary gift to cus- tomers, Barringtons is holding a raffle for a reversible sheared mink three-quarter coat valued at $6000.
