Glover was acclaimed to the chairs role at the organizations recent annual general meeting. Glover replaces Mervyn Russell, who announced he would be stepping down. Glovers association with the organization dates back to its early years, when he was a member from 1992 to 1995. He volunteered with OCCPEHR and played the harmonica with an activist blues band for the organiza- tions youth dances. Glover will continue a tradition of the organizations major events, such as the Halton Eco Festival, Earth Week Clean Up and Peace Concert, stated a press release from OCCPEHR. The organization will also con- tinue putting on free public forums and will invite stimulating speakers on contemporary issues and will work to develop direct rela- tionships with government decision makers. To do these things, Glover calls on com- munity volunteers to join the organization.
