Oakville tied the game with less than five minutes in regulation, then struck quickly in the extra session to earn its fifth win in six games at the tournament. London had handed the Rangers their only loss, downing Oakville 4-3 in round-robin play. The Rangers other wins came over Marquette Illinois (2-1), Sault Ste. Marie (3-0), Ottawa (6-2) and Chicago (4-2).
