Bidini will be in Oakville to read from his most recent book Home and Away: In Search of Dreams at the Homeless World Cup of Soccer on Sunday, Nov, 21. Admission to the event is free. The event is put on by Street Soccer Canada, the charity that organizes the homeless soccer programs in Canada. Bidini travelled with the Canadian team in 2008 to the international competition in Melbourne, Australia. He watched the team members play and witnessed their disappoint- ments, frustrations, joys and triumphs and began to care about the players. He began to see how the sport was able to transform the lives of those on the edge. Bidini is an author, playwright, filmmaker and musician.
