SNA NEWSPAPER OF THE YEAR 2010 ONTARIOS TOP NEWSPAPER - 2005-2008 The Oakville Hospital Foundation (OHF)s task of raising $60 million for the new Oakville hospital just got a bit easier thanks to a $10 million donation, which will officially take place on Thursday. The donation, said to be the largest the OHF has ever received, will be announced at a spe- cial event at the northwest corner of Third Line and Dundas Street, the future site of the new Oakville hospi- tal. In order for this new healthcare facility to be realized, $60 million must be raised privately, and this would not be possi- ble without the financial contributions and support from members of the local and surrounding commu- nity, said John Oliver, president and CEO, Halton Healthcare Services. During this event, I look forward to celebrating this $10 million contribution with friends, hospital staff, government officials and members of the media. The construction of the new Oakville hospital is significant, as it will be one of the first new hospitals in Ontario built using the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care's new design guidelines for hospital construction. With a list of more than 39,000 pieces of equip- ment the new hospital is also expected to have some of the best medical equipment and technology avail- able.
