The closure reference was actually about the fact that schools I attended as a child are now either closed or are threatened with closure. The point was that I am familiar with students moving schools. I moved back to the Mississauga/Oakville area 11 years ago after spending only a few years in Nova Scotia. I grew up in Mississauga and went to university in Ontario. The article makes it sound like I've only been in Ontario for 11 years. My volunteer job with the Oakville Symphony Orchestra was not my first volun- teer job. It was my first volunteer job after graduating university and starting my career. I had done many other volunteer activities while in school. That volunteer experience was before I moved to Nova Scotia, while I lived in Mississauga. The paragraph about my school council activities is very messed up. I had been the school council secretary as well as school council treasurer for both Linbrook Public School and EJ James Public School over the course of a few years. I was a member of the PARC 14 committee the name of which anyone following Ward 3 would readily know as it was often men- tioned in The Oakville Beaver. There is no E.J. James residents' associa- tion it is a school, not a neighbourhood. If elected I will be promoting better com- munication and co-operation with the com- munity (not from). I have never sat at the board table. I have been attending meetings of the Halton District School Board (HDSB) as a member of the public gallery for more than seven years. That was part of a quote and I did not say that. I was attempting to explain that decisions made in the board room aren't always explained as well as they could be to allow the public to understand why a particular decision was reached. I am running for trustee in Ward 3 because I am passionate about supporting all the schools in this ward, elementary and second- ary.
