Police report that shortly before 11 a.m. a 67-year-old Oakville woman was walking into the Wal-Mart store at 145 Hays Blvd., when she was approached by a female, who asked if she knew where the immigration lawyer's office was in the plaza. The suspect was soon joined by a male accomplice to trick the victim into believing the suspect needed a large sum of money in order to claim a lottery prize. The victim took an undisclosed amount of money from her personal bank account and was led to believe it would be paid back once the prize was claimed. Once the money exchanged hands the suspects distracted the victim and left the area. The victim was not injured during the encounter. The suspects are described as: · Female, Latin American, five-feetseven, weighing 169 pounds. She wore a tight-fitting blouse and went by the name Gloria. · Male, Latin American, five-feetseven, weighing 200 pounds. He wore shorts and had a cracked or stained front tooth. He referred to himself by the name of Ricardo. The suspects' vehicle is described as a silver four door, possibly a Nissan Sentra. A similar incident involving the same two suspects occurred earlier this year in March at the Price Chopper Grocery Store at Third Line and Dundas Street in Oakville.
