Langlois recently accepted an academic and athletic scholarship from King College in Tennessee, where he'll suit up for the school's Division 2 squad. King College first took notice of Langlois when they saw him playing for Erin Mills at last season's Capital Area Soccer League Showcase in North Carolina. Langlois has maintained a 90 per cent average in his Grade 12 year at Aquinas. He was also part of the Raiders squad that won the Halton boys' soccer AA championship and competed at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations tournament. The A's have won their first two tournaments of the year, claiming the Mississauga Majors and Mississauga North competitions on consecutive weekends. Oakville's first title came in the Majors tournament, where it posted convincing victories over Guelph, Peterborough, Mississauga Bengals and North Toronto before pounding the Bengals 18-4 in the final. The A's followed that up by defeating Waterloo, Brampton, Barrie, Guelph and Etobicoke to reach the title game at the Mississauga North tournament, where they edged the Hamilton Cardinals 3-2. The victory over Hamilton avenged a loss to the Cardinals in last year's Ontario Baseball Association provincial championship game. Andreana named to softball squad Tina Andreana has been named to the Canadian team for the International Softball Federation women's world softball championships in Caracus, Venezuela. The Blakelock graduate is now pitching for Western Texas College, where she recently pitched the fourth no-hitter in school history. Canada will open the tournament June 24 against Cuba. Errors in baseball coverage Two members of the Loyola Hawks baseball team were misidentified in a story about the Halton high school championship game in Friday's edition of The Oakville Beaver. Mark McIntyre had three hits and drove in two runs for the Hawks in their 5-4 loss to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, while Dave McNamara is the club's manager.
