community notices l In Memoriams l Obituaries PERRAS, Lucien Georges Born March 22, 1926 Passed peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Ian Anderson House, Oakville, Ontario. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Island Brook, Quebec to occur at a later date. Lucien was the loving husband of Yvonne (Marshall) and was predeceased by Thelma (Dawson) in 2001. Born in Montreal, Lucien had a long and distinguished career in Education, as both a Teacher and Principal. He went on to become the Director of the Lakeshore School Board where he served for 20 years. Upon moving to Ontario in 1976, Lucien became the Director of the Council of Ministers of Education (Canada). During his retirement years he continued to enjoy travel, gardening and active memberships in P r o b u s a n d h i s C h u rc h c o m m u n i t y. Lucien will be forever loved and dearly missed by his children, David (Brenda), Terry (Marion), Jocelyn and Michael (predeceased 2009). Special "Poppy" to grandchildren Andre, Jon, Shayla, Liam, Adam, Rachelle, Emily and Danielle. Cherished Uncle of D i a n e ( Te r r y ) H o w e l l a n d B o b b y Dawson. Martin was born December 27, 1922 in Albaredo, Treviso, Italy and came to live in Port Credit, Sarnia, Oakville and Burlington. He proudly served in the R.C.N. in WWII. He was an eager supporter of the Royal Canadian Legion and was honoured to represent his country in Holland at the 50th a n n i v e r s a r y o f V. E . D a y. H e w a s a r e c i p i e n t o f t h e Q u e e n 's G o l d e n Jubilee Medal for outstanding commitment and ser vice to his community and country. He lived a full life as a devoted father, grandfather and friend who had a keen interest in hiking and travelling.
