Pringle and her daughter Catherine were the featured speakers at the Talking Out Loud: DeStigmatizing Mental Health Issues for Children and Families forum. The event was hosted by Y.O.D.A.'s (Youth Overcoming Depression and Anxiety) Youth Advisory Committee. Valerie Pringle The event featured displays by community groups and talks from experts as well as local youths who are suffering from things such as depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder (ADD), bipolar and unipolar disorders, insomnia and others. "It's people like you, speaking in rooms like this, that will make it totally normal," said Catherine to the youths. Catherine herself suffers from panic, anxiety and depression. After she learned what was causing her to frequently cry uncontrollably she and her mother have become spokespersons for mental health issues and for organizations such as the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto. "Oh yes, it's great fun, there's a big slide and a waterfall," joked Brenda Dushko, fund development manager with the Oakville and Milton District Rescued fox pup Humane Society. All kidding aside, the second young fox pup was rescued, it's believed, safe and sound early Wednesday morning -- less than a week after its older brother had gone on the same adventure. While the first fox was rescued by local resident Trevor Daly and animal protection officer Renata Helmich last Thursday, the second pup was in a such a precarious situation the humane society nearly See Viaduct page 5 291 Speers Road, Oakville 905.827.
