The choir will perform under the direction of its new music director David Bowser. To celebrate the special occasion, the choir will present Beethoven's legendary Mass in C Major. The program will also include a selection of Renaissance madrigals. The concert will feature the NYCO Symphony Orchestra and Chorus from Toronto as special guests. It will also feature guest soloists Corinne Lynch, Patti Ann Vipond, Bernie Lynch and Andrew Tees. The choir's accompanist is Anne Marie Leonard. Cyclist showing Bicycle Art An Oakville visual artist is celebrating Toronto's Bicycle Month this May with an art show in one of Toronto's largest public galleries. Luigia Zilli's Bicycle Art exhibit opens May 5 and runs until June 2 in the upper gallery of the Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery in the Columbus Centre, located at 901 Lawrence Ave. W. The exhibit is one of many Toronto events to entertain cyclists and biking fans in the area. Zilli, a cyclist herself, has shown her bicycle art last year during Giro d'Italia in Italy. Loyola Music Night raises funds against cancer Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary School's annual Music Night will also be a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society. The Music Night will take place Thursday, May 6 from 7-9 p.m. at the high school located at 1550 Nottinghill Gate. Tickets cost $5 and a portion of proceeds will go towards the Canadian Cancer Society for cancer research. The performing bands will include the Loyola Jazz Band and Loyola Concert Band. Both have qualified for MusicFest Canada in Ottawa this year and Vancouver next year as the Jazz Band received High Silver and the Concert Band received Gold for their outstanding performances at the Golden Horseshoe MusicFest. In addition, there will be several Loyola music students showcasing their individual talent during the annual evening of music at Loyola.
