The Oakville Blades and Georgetown Raiders will cross paths once again in the Jr. A hockey playoffs. Oakville advanced to the second round of the Ontario Junior A Hockey League playoffs by defeating the Aurora Tigers 3-2 Tuesday at Joshua's Creek Arenas, claiming their bestof-seven quarter-final series in five games. Georgetown also won its first-round series Tuesday, edging the Villanova Knights 3-2 to prevail in six games. This is the fifth time in seven years that Oakville and Georgetown are meeting in the postseason. The Blades have been victorious in three of the four previous meetings, including a seven-game win in last year's MacKinnon Division finals. The schedule for the Oakville/Georgetown series had not been announced as of yesterday (Wednesday). Oakville will have home ice advantage after finishing ahead of Georgetown in the regular-season standings. Mark Bennett, Josh Ranalli and Kyle Blaney scored for Oakville in Tuesday's clincher against Aurora. Mike Ingoldsby had a pair of assists and Daniel Savelli made 33 saves to record the victory. The OJHAL's other semifinal series will feature the defending champion Kingston Voyageurs against the Trenton Titans. Kingston defeated the Vaughan Vipers 4-1 in the opening round and Trenton swept the Couchiching Terriers.
