Within two years Solar Semiconductor is hoping to expand its Oakville operation and in the process create more than 200 full-time and part-time jobs becoming one of Oakville's top 10 advanced manufacturers. "Today, we are proud to announce that Solar Semiconductor has chosen to build its first North American manufacturing facility here in Oakville," said Burton. "This sets me up to be able to say, `My solar panel manufacturer in Oakville has actually made more solar panels than the premier's solar panel manufacturer, a lot more. His hasn't made any yet and isn't going to make any until 2013. With any luck you guys could own the market by then." Burton went on to say that Solar Semiconductor provides high quality solar products for both homes and businesses and called the international investment in Oakville a win for the environment and economy of Oakville, Ontario and Canada. "Solar technology has many great benefits. It can be installed on existing buildings. It uses an unlimited, renewable resource, the sun. It produces zero emissions, zero noise and takes up zero usable space," said Burton. "The town is investigating using alternative, green energies to power some of our facilities. Oakville Hydro representatives have been meeting with Solar Semiconductor to explore opportunities for partnerships with the town and Oakville Hydro. We're excited to continue these discussions to pursue our environmental sustainability goals." Oakville MPP Kevin Flynn said he also saw Solar Semiconductor's arrival as positive pointing out that the province's Green Energy Act See Oakville page 9 HEARING AID SPECIAL (Clients portion) *Some Conditions Apply * $ From 295 Let our designers and product selection take you to another place.
