www.oakvillebeaver.com · OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, December 16, 2009 · 8 Lone bank robber leaves with gift bag of money Halton police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who robbed the TD Canada Trust, located at 3471 Wyecroft Rd., Thursday, Dec. 10. The incident began at around 7:30 p.m. when a man walked in and shouted he was robbing the bank. The man then walked up to a female teller and handed her a gift bag, which he ordered her to fill with money. Employees did not see a weapon, but feared the man might have been armed as he kept his hand in his pocket during the robbery. The man received an undisclosed amount of cash and then fled. No one was injured during the robbery. The suspect is described as a white male, 6foot-3 to 6-foot-4, 170 pounds, with dark eyes and dirty blond or light brown hair. He was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt with a diamond pattern made of lighter coloured lines on the front with the hood -- which had a light-coloured interior -- pulled up. The man was also wearing a dark baseball cap with white lettering on the peak, blue jeans with a dark belt, which were worn below the lower back, thick blue gloves, white running shoes with black soles and a dark shirt underneath the sweatshirt. A grey scarf with light coloured ends covered the suspect's face. Halton police are continuing to investigate this incident and anyone with information related to it is asked to contact the Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-8254747 ext. 2204 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222TIPS (8477).
