Freestate plays YMCA Freestate is holding its CD release Christmas bonanza this weekend. Freestate is a local reggae band composed of Connor Farrell, Stuart Symes, Michael Bright, and Liam Farrell, all Loyola students and alumni. The show is an all-ages event that will be held on Saturday, Dec. 19 at the YMCA of Oakville, 410 Rebecca St. The night will kick off with Burlington punk band The Penske File, formerly known as The Bad Names, followed by Mississauga natives Killer Green, who will be performing reggae. Freestate will take the stage after Killer Green to get the crowd moving to some upbeat ska and get them ready for Burlington friends Walk Off The Earth, who will end off the night. Tickets cost $10 at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the festivities running from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Arts Briefs Small Treasures The Small Treasures exhibition featuring a selection of small-scale art runs until Dec. 20 at Dunn Street Gallery, 223 Church St. The gallery is constantly adding to its collection and has recently introduced artwork from Oakville native Heather Black and Hamilton-based artist William Ferguson.
