Yet this large bus is costing taxpayers considerable funds and discharging needless and excessive fumes into our airshed. Oakville Transit already has a regular bus service running east/west along Rebecca, which is only 150 meters north of Lakeshore Road, surely it is not too much to ask for the few transit riders that may need this service, to walk the short distance to the Rebecca line. Alternatively, if a new bus route is absolutely necessary, why not consider adding a minivan to the line, and match the resource to the need. Also, have there been any traffic studies as to the impact frequently stopping buses will have on an already busy and residential roadway? Finally, my receptivity is further negatively affected by my earlier experience with Oakville Transit buses whizzing up and down Lakeshore Road during the Coronation Park summer festival, often at speeds in excess of the speed limit (especially in the evening when the road is less busy).
