T O S E R V E Tyke 2 Hawks earn provincial silver The Oakville tyke 2 Hawks turned the tables on a few teams at the provincial box lacrosse championships. Defeating several squads that they'd lost to during the regular season, the Hawks earned silver in the 16-team D Division at the recent Ontario Lacrosse Festival in Whitby. Oakville won four of its six games at the tournament. The Hawks' only losses came against Innisfil, including a 10-4 defeat in the championship game. Ryan Brooks scored twice while Dante Parisotto and Chris Dong added singles in the loss. The Hawks opened the tournament with a 6-2 loss to Innisfil (Cam Tolnai scored both Oakville goals), but then rebounded to win its next four games. Parisotto scored four times, Tolnai added three and Brooks tallied twice in a 9-1 rout of Six Nations. Brooks (two), Vincent Milantoni and Tolnai found the net in a 4-1 victory over Whitby, advancing the Hawks into the playoff round. Oakville hammered Niagara on the Lake 8-1 in the quarter-finals, led by two-goal efforts by Kyle Truffen and Tolnai. Owen Sage, Parisotto, Brooks and Milantoni had Oakville's other goals. The Hawks then needed an overtime goal by Tolnai, his second marker of the game, to edge Milton 8-7 in the semifinals. Oakville netminder Davis Tolnai stopped a breakaway moments before the Hawks notched the winning goal. Johnny Benham and Brooks also had two goals, with Chase Strychaluk and Zack Terry striking for one apiece. Max Boulanger, Luke Dawick, Ethan Stainton, Ethan Harkins and Matthew Vilas also contributed to the silver-medal showing.
