The college unveiled its highly innovative and comprehensive emergency notification system that will be used to aid students, staff, emergency service personnel and the public in the event of a crisis situation on the school's campuses in Oakville and Brampton. The system, dubbed Sheridan Incident Response and Emergency Notification (SIREN), utilizes the varied array of communication devices and systems available in today's high-tech world to disseminate critical information during a campus emergency. College officials are calling the system "the first of its kind" in North America. Sheridan President Robert Turner proudly presented SIREN to media and invited guests Tuesday morning at the Trafalgar Road Campus in Oakville. The event included a demonstration of the system that uses Cisco and UNIS LUMIN technology.
