Her name was Feather because she was the runt of the litter and about three-quarters the size of the other puppies, but we knew she was going to be special. About two weeks later, my mom and I took the three-hour journey to pick up Yogi from her present home and take her to ours. When I finally met her , I knew giving up a habit of nail-biting was only a small price to pay for something so won- derful in return. I don't think either of my parents wanted another dog, but after having Yogi in our lives for six years, we can't imagine life without her. She's always mistaken by people who don't know her as a male dog, obviously because of her name. She even gets mistaken as a puppy because she is small. The good news is I have absolutely no desire to ever bite my nails again and haven't thought about it since Yogi came home. She brings joy to everyone around her and sometimes she even looks like she could be smiling. She is much more than a household pet; she is a companion to each of my family members.
