Way of the Cross on Friday Shipment of flatscreen TVs hijacked The Way of the Cross Good Friday Walk will take place across Oakville on Friday. The Oakville Catholic Youth Organization is hosting the annual Good Friday Walk from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Members of the public are invited to join in the walk across town. It will begin with a 9 a.m. service at St. Andrew's Church and culminate with a reception at St. Dominic's Church. The walk will stop for lunch at St. James Church. Those participating are asked to park at St. Dominic's on Rebecca Street just east of Bronte Road and take a shuttle to St. Andrew's. The shuttle will operate from 8-8:45 a.m. Participants are also asked to dress for the weather and bring along water for hydration. Halton police are asking for the public's help following the early Friday morning theft of a tractortrailer, loaded with plasma televisions. Police said the theft took place at around 12:30 a.m. when an unknown number of suspects descended on the AC Transport compound, located at 1221 North Service Rd. E. The suspects cut the lock to the fenced compound and stole a Freightliner Tractor and a trailer containing 270 televisions valued at more than $217,000. The stolen merchandise included 252 Panasonic plasma 50" flat screen televisions (model TC50PX14) and 18 Panasonic plasma 50" flat screen televisions (model TC-P50U1). The stolen truck portion of the tractor-trailer was later recovered in Mississauga, however, the stolen trailer containing the televisions remains missing. The trailer is described as a red `CIMC' model bearing the Tennessee licence plate T964688. Halton police are continuing to investigate this incident.
