Honouring Drew's memory 9 · OAKVILLE BEAVER Wednesday, April 8, 2009 Continued from page 6 Lastly, his Mom, who somehow held it together as her son was in a coma. Making decisions about her youngest son that no mother should ever have to make. She selflessly was concerned for those around her, buying water for all the friends, who she graciously invited to say goodbye to their beloved friend when there was so little time left. Encouraging all those friends to continue Drew's personal moral code of nonviolence, which they honored, as they knew Drew would have wanted it that way. Drew Hildebrand went to school every day. He had a part-time job at Zellers, a very, very large circle of devoted and loving friends, an absolutely extraordinary family and extended family. He had a lovely girlfriend and was in love. He had goals for the future. He had every attribute that makes someone a productive and viable member of any community. His morals, beliefs, behaviour and decisions in his too short life reflect that Drew was the kind of son, brother, friend, cousin, nephew and grandchild that any family would be thankful and proud to have as their own.
